Another Hungry Soul

Hunger gnawing at her stomach, she walked rapidly towards her hostel bitterly regretting her decision to skip breakfast. Metaphysical poetry seemed absurd when images of hot sambar sadam had filled her mind.

She stood at the edge of the road waiting for the light to turn red. A stray wind blew dust around. The lights showed green, the roads empty. Taking her chance she stepped forward to cross the road. Scratching the corner of her eye, she walked down the road. Somebody yelled. She turned around; last she saw was the black silhouette of a car speeding away from her.
