Missing Life

Somewhere far beneath
Time swept landscapes
Trodden by lost souls
You lie buried
Missing death presumed
Entombed in damp earth
With lost treasures
Your precious dreams
Your future life
No words or songs
No pale stone
Mark your passing
Passive poet
Doubtful warrior
You died devoured
By a human holocaust
 Haunted by grief
Your wife and child
Trapped forever
In never healing sorrow
 You were my grandfather
I carry your genes
Your memory custodian
With these words
With this poem
I mark your life
