I had never really been to the ocean before, and certainly never at night, but there I stood on Huntington Beach in California a few hours after the Sun had been swallowed by the sea’s horizon. I felt ice in my soul as I listened to the waves crash into the beach and watched them return to the forever reaching and unfathomable ocean. It was then that I truly realized the eerie might of the sea and the secrets it holds; on an inexplicably primal level, it terrified me. I don’t visit the ocean much.
A beautiful picture and sounds like quite a spiritual experience for you:-)

The sea’s certainty washes through.

Powerful piece. In the end, the ocean is like a terrifying beast not a place of serenity it seems to be at first in the pic.

It was certainly an interesting experience. I remember turning to my companion and expressing my wish to leave because the ocean wasn’t friendly and I couldn’t escape the eerie feeling you expect from a horror movie.
