By Claire Doble
The heartlines that stretch
like yarn
like vapor trails
like ink from your pen
winging its way
in a letter you sent
like a lit road at night
seen from the sky
that jeweled line of bright
beaded with light
like blood from a scratch
or a virtual smile
from you to me
across the miles
Bio: Claire Doble is an Australian-born poet and writer living in Zurich, Switzerland.
I liked this, especially the line, “like a lit road at night, seen from the sky,
that jeweled line of bright.” Thank you for sharing.

So, bitter with the sweet? Yes!

I can see a similar ‘jewelled line of bright’ from my home too. I love to sit and watch the twinkling lights and imagine the lives of the people who live within them.
Thank you for a lovely sentiment of the virtual smile.
