The Goddess of the Void

By Emma Grave

The goddess of the void wanders the land during the twilight hours with her silver bucket and spade. She skips across the edges of paving stones and playfully traces a finger along the lines between bricks in walls. She traverses the interstitial spaces, collecting up the brief moments in between people’s breaths, thoughts, and emotions. When the dawn breaks, she carefully cradles her bucket brimming with gathered intervals as she steps through a transient gateway, taking them away to be re-purposed.

She returns each day to continue her vital work.

She is imperceptible and evanescent.

The goddess of the void.
