A Life Remembered

Those gathered by the graveside sat silently while Ave Maria played among the headstones. Once the song faded away, several doves took to the air and flapped away. The priest reminded everyone of her impeccable character and prayed for her soul. She deserved a gilded theater packed with mourners and a live orchestra, but a handful of attendants and a twelve-dollar CD player were enough.
