By D.A. Donaldson

You dazzled me at the beginning, with your intriguing ideas and fresh perspective. You were delightful—full of potential—and I was so into you. Before long, it was love!

But after a time you began to frustrate me. Our relationship stagnated. Things seemed repetitive, like the magic was gone, and just like that we broke up.

Yet here I am, back again. Maybe we can still make this work. After all, we we’ve been together from the start—me at my keyboard, and you, my novel-in-progress. We’ll do it differently, and this time we’ll get it right!

D.A. Donaldson writes because (a) he can do it at work and (b) it’s way more fun than his job.

  1. Yes I can relate deeply to this. I have just finished the third/fouth (maybe it was more) round of editing.
The novel is with the proof reader now. I don’t want it back, maybe I need a long break and fresh eyes.

    I enjoyed this short drabble/reminder.
