Flakes of morning sun appeared over Heritage Hill. Dew beaded on the tips of petal tongues. The car in park — we embraced. You pulled the door handle; I pushed the unlock button — a mechanized thud turned into awkwardness — but only for a few seconds until we tried again.
John is English Faculty at Mohave Community College. “I write like I need more cowbell,” he says.
