From horizon to horizon
I didn’t know
what it is to expand.
You expend
your energy on toys and games.
It is not enough
to simply learn the names
of people and places.
Don’t you feel it coming?
It’s been coming for days.
A coming of age
whose weight
falls like the sky
on your shoulders. I
couldn’t bear it for long
but it’s coming in now coming in strong.
If you listen closely
you can hear the sky falling
on horizons that continue to expand
out and on past our former dreamland.
“I write out of a fascination with life that is equal parts enchantment and frustration. I am inspired by the breeze, by the birds, by the daily occurrences and synchronicities of simple life.” – the writer
Unfortunately we all have to leave out childhood behind!
