The day I fell in love with you
A poem was born
On the pages of my diary
That’s safe from prying eyes
You awakened inside me
Emotions strong and sublime
I thought about you all the time
Far-away echoes of a time and place
Were replaced with new thoughts
Whispers of happiness
And an image of your face
The person I once was is now gone
And the new me is journeying through life
With the help of words that I string together
To express the feelings that you’ve stirred inside
The very same ones that keep me alive
