Welcome to The Drabble, a site dedicated to publishing original fiction, non-fiction, and poetic works of 100 words or fewer. Find us on Facebook @drabblemag or on Twitter @the_drabble
Care to submit?
Submit your original drabble using our online submission portal. (Note: The title and by-line do not count against the 100-word submission limit.) If you’d prefer to remain anonymous, please indicate that in your submission. If you’re not yet entirely sure what drabble is, consider reading this post.
If you’re submitting something that you’ve already posted on your own blog, we ask that you please cut and paste the text into the body of your email. Please do not send links.
We look forward to reading you shortly (bad pun intended).
Thank you for liking my post. I believe it’s the second time, and I failed in the common courtesy department after the first.
The Drabble is an intriguing concept, and I shall try my hand at this new approach when I can.
Cheers to the Anonymous Drabbler(s)!

I submitted a drabble more than a month ago, August 19 to be precise, and haven’t heard back. Received no acknowledgement, so not sure it is under consideration. Is it still being looked into?

Hi. It generally takes us 6-8 weeks to read and respond to submissions. We should be getting to yours in the next few weeks.

Theoretically, couldn’t you drabble 100 words into a comment box, or would that be unprofessional?

How do I add a photo of my own choosing to my Drabble submission(s)? I am a photographer as well and often choose my own images to accompany my writing. Thank you.

Thanks for publishing my drabble (7 months ago now). Do I still own rights to submit it elsewhere?
LikeLike
Yes Fiona, you may submit it elsewhere so long as that publication is okay with it appearing here too.

BTW – I love your concept as well, I think you are doing great things for the Net in general, it’s just not my thing at this time but it is comforting to know that avenue is open to all.. Kudos!

Hey The Drabble,
Thanks for your like of my post “Coronavirus: Melbourne under lockdown”. I get the impression you’re based in the States, so it’s great that our antipodean ennuis are of interest to you!
I’ve always been fascinated by the Drabble format, so I’ll be sure to check in with you from time to time and see what’s shaking in the super-short fiction world.
Best wishes,

Do we have to write about a photo or any prompt ? How do we choose the topic? It is interesting.

Writers may submit whatever genre they choose (poetry or prose) on whatever subject they want. If we accept it, we then seek out an image from the Creative Commons to pair with the submission.
