Misinterpretation

She winks at me from across the bar, twirling strands of hair around her finger. My buddy nudges me in the ribs. “She’s totally into you. Go talk to her.”

Into me? My insides shake as I down my beer. So glad I came out tonight! I flash her a triumphant smile and stride over.

My sister points to a guy strolling toward us. “You know him? He’s been staring at you all night.”

I shake my head. “What a creepster!” I should’ve stayed home. I’m so tired my eyelids are twitching. And my hair is driving me nuts.
