The bait was set.
“Hey, let’s take a shortcut.” The narrow track of sand cut through the bush, leading towards the dunes.
“But its private property.” Danger! Keep out. The path was hemmed in by a tall mesh fence and a thick rusty gate, left slightly ajar.
“Don’t be a wuss. Come on, let’s see where it goes.” The distant roar of the ocean beckoned.
Ignoring the knot in his stomach, he squeezed past the gate.
Just behind the first dune, they patiently awaited their prey.
They were hungry, but they knew that curiosity would keep them well fed.
Never stop at first place!
