Dolls that look like humans, but with eyes, nose, mouth removed, are halal. A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had toys in the house of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Dolls with lips, eyes, brows that hold their shape are graven images, but Barbie can be a mother and a good Muslim, married to a Salim, Saad or Sa’id, if we hold her near a flame till her face disappears.
Remember, Islam is not a part-time faith. Allah knows best.
As for animals — horses, lions, bears — one should cut off their heads. There is nothing wrong with that.

im a moslem and this is unsettling because my childhood toys are the complete opposite.
