The instructor android watches the student’s titanium-alloy fingers tap pictures on the tablet.
“Goat, horse, and … cow.” Just eight months post-initialization, the student excels at image recognition. “Now I know all the animals! Can I go tell my friends?”
The instructor checks the weather. “Wait for the dust storm to end.”
“But they’re in the next dome.”
“Unsafe.” The instructor opens another e-book. “Let’s study the jungle.”
“Wait, there’s even more animals?”
The student clicks through images of creatures that don’t exist on Mars. “Wow! When I grow up, I want to be an explorer. I’ll go explore Earth!”
