Offerings from a God

By Tara Glowniak

His eyes burned fiery brown, piercing my face like millions of needles, my cheeks burning red. He held out the liquid-filled syringe, the one I swore I’d never touch. Unable to tear from his gaze I take it and plunge it deep into my veins. Untying the restraint from my arm, his soft lips find mine, the only thing soft about him. A fiery sensation floods throughout my body … I groan in ecstasy, collapsing onto the couch. That feeling, that fire, I was in love. Adonis had only offered temptation, it was I who accepted the ticket to Hell.
